Govt. to take the issue of Training

In an interesting move the ministry of overseas Indian affairs is getting into migration management policy in a big way.
Given India’s young workforce and the huge economic opportunities emerging around the world, we are well poised to reap the benefits of global skills shortages. However, MOIA is seriously addressing the issue of upgrading the perception of India as a country that sends out a skilled and disciplined workforce. For this we will look into training and skills upgrade as well as basic foreign language training for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers who decide to look for opportunities overseas,” G Gurucharan, joint secretary MOIA, told ET.
Some of the initiatives arise out of the Indian government’s concern about global competition eating into low wage jobs and localisation reducing the number of unskilled jobs available.
